How cute are these?! My 9, 5 and 3 year old love doing arts and crafts so they definitely had a great time making these for their grandmas on Mother’s Day. We helped them out of course when needed but I think they did an amazing job. Brayden’s candle holder will go to mother from all of them, Weston’s candle holder will go to my late husband’s step-mother, and Boston’s candle holder will go to my husband Mike’s mother – their new grandma Diane. They loved picking who their candle holder will go to and that it will be from all of them. It is such a special gift I think their grandmother’s will enjoy.
This craft is very easy to do and fun! I even made one for myself to keep in the bathroom with polka dot tissue paper. They all turned out very cute and looks so pretty with the tea light candle we put inside. The light bounces off the colors of the tissue beautifully. You can use a tea light candle or small votive candle.
You will need:
- Colored tissue squares
- small mason jars
- brushes – even a paint brush would work
- tea light or votive candles
The boys brushed a little glue on their mason jars and covered with the colored tissue paper – overlapping in various directions. They each used three colors. They brushed over the tissue as well for a finished glossy look and they loved it. It was so much fun!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
