I love grilled cheese! Like LOVE! It is so fun to experiment with it and try new recipes. My husband Mike and I love philly cheese steak LOADED with jalapeño for an extra kick so I decided to make it into a grilled cheese sandwich! Looks pretty darn good huh? Trust me. It is!
It is so easy to make and I used my griddle that I use from pancakes to grilled cheese sandwiches so that I could have multiple cooking all at once.
Ready to make this delicious creation? Here is what you need!
INGREDIENTS (Makes four sandwiches)
- Texas toast (8 slices)
- One bag of John Soules Foods Frozen Beef Steak Strips (used about half the bag)
- 8 slices of provolone cheese
- 1 small white onion sliced
- pre sliced mushrooms (optional)
- one sliced jalapeño (optional)
- 1 medium sized bell pepper sliced
I sliced my onion, Jalapeño and bell pepper. I sautéed it in a little olive oil and added a dash of salt and pepper. Then I added my frozen beef strips with a tiny bit more olive oil.
After my Philly cheese steak mixture was done I took it off the heat and turned on my griddle to about 300 degrees. I put some butter on my griddle to melt. I laid down my bread and put a slice of cheese on each. Then I topped four of the bread slices with my Philly cheese steak mixture.
When the bottoms of the bread are as golden brown I topped them to make the sandwich. I used my roasting pan lid as a dome to cover the sandwiches so the cheese could melt more. You can also put them in the oven for a minute or two if you want.
I hope you enjoy these delicious grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch or dinner! We definitely did and can’t wait to make again!
