I love Asian cuisine. Ever since I was a little kid. I can’t get enough of it. Absolutely love the taste and flavors of the sauces, meats and vegetables combined into one delicious dish. If you have a taste for sweet and sour sauce then this recipe is definitely for you! It taste amazing with chicken and vegetables! For my choice of chicken I wanted simple (hungry children you know… or should I say HANGRY) so I used Tyson’s honey breast tenders found in the frozen meal aisle at the grocery store. It paired perfectly with it. It’s simple and easy to make too!
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup ketchup
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1-2 drops of red dye (optional)
- 1 large yellow bell pepper
- 1 large red bell pepper
- ½ cup of white onion slices (chopped into wedges similar to the bell pepper)
- Tyson Honey Breast Tenders
Cook how many tenders you want according to the instructions on the package. I did about 6-7 tenders per person is good. It’s about two bites per one tender.
Mix ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add a mixture of cornstarch and water = 1 tablespoon of each to start. If you need more then add to thicken.
Chop your bell peppers and onions and sauté in a skillet with a little olive oil until tender.
I then put my tenders and vegetables into my sauce and let it simmer for a minutes or so prior to serving with white rice. It was absolutely delicious with great flavor and easy to make!
