Halloween is kind of my jam. I love the holidays – my two favorite are Halloween and Christmas! Especially with my kids who love doing arts and crafts. With Halloween coming they really want to go to the pumpkin patch again to pick pumpkins which we plan on doing in a few weeks for a second family trip however these cute DIY Jack O’ Lantern mason jars are super easy to do, fun, and won’t rot from being carved too early before Halloween! They are perfect to put in your window sill or even around the house for some fun and festive Halloween décor! I hope your family loves doing these as much as we did. They turned out so cute!
You will need:
- 3 mason jars
- hot glue gun
- orange paint
- brown or green paint for stems
- 3 wine corks
- black felt
- 3 artificial leaves
- 3 battery operated tea light candles
First the kids painted the jars with just one coat of paint so that it is orange enough yet the light from the candle will still shine through.
Then we painted our wine corks for the stems and let those dry with the jars.
While everything was drying we made our jack o’ lantern faces out of the felt.
Then we glued our mason jar caps to the lids, glued the stem at a tilt and attached our leaves as well.
After your jar paint is dried go ahead and hot glue the face onto your jar to create your pumpkin! Insert your tea light and put your lid on and you are done!! Aren’t they cute!? Happy Crafting and Happy Halloween!
Have you done any fun Halloween crafts yet?
