One thing I love about Christmastime is baking and how the house smells so amazingly delicious with the fragrance of sugar in the air. Of course my kids love when I bake, I mean who wouldn’t want some tasty Christmas or winter themed treat?
Every year as a family tradition we do our Elf on a Shelf who they have named Russell. My husband and I have a lot of fun getting our creative juices flowing and thinking of fun ways to display him for the boys to find in the morning.
Sprinkles and chocolate chips are a favorite in this house and I wanted a very easy and simple, one bowl no mess recipe for us busy parents with these two main ingredients for cookie HANGRY kids!
• one 21 oz package of Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix (follow instructions for the drop cookie)
• one cup of white chocolate chips (white just make the cookies look even prettier!)
• 2 tablespoons of red, white and green tiny round sprinkles
That’s it! I told you it’ll be simple!! Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Make your dough according to the drop cookie recipe on the back of the package.
Then add your chocolate chips and sprinkles into the dough.
For each cookie you are using about half a table spoon of dough. The cookies are small but not miniature and not big either – you should be able to make 3 dozen of these delicious little treats.
These cookies will need to bake for 15 minutes and they are perfectly chewy and taste delicious! Plus they are so easy and quick to make for our little elves! Enjoy and have the kids join in on the baking fun too!
